Police: Use in Göppingen

A turning maneuver in a parking lot set a car on fire in Göppingen and damaged other vehicles.
An 83-year-old woman wanted to turn her car, a Skoda with automatic transmission, in the parking lot of the Hohenstaufen cemetery, but collided with another parked vehicle, the police in Ulm said.
When she moved on, she collided with another car.
Residents prevented worse
Then the woman's car caught fire.
Two other parked cars were affected by the heat development.
It was only thanks to the "courageous intervention of a local resident," according to the police, that the flames did not spread to even more vehicles.
The resident is namely with the fire department.
He made an emergency call, helped the woman out of the burning car and fought the flames with a fire extinguisher until the fire department arrived.
Nobody was injured, the total damage to the vehicles is around 50,000 euros.
