Many of us will spend the last days of summer and the week of Sukkot on the Sea of Galilee and on the other shores of Israel, and will surely leave large amounts of garbage in them.
The Kinneret Cities Association asks vacationers to dispose of trash only in designated bins and to keep the environment and water clean.
"There is only one national lake! And it belongs to all of us and it is our responsibility," the authority says.
Meanwhile, during a tour of the beach on the lake, members of the Kinneret Cities Association met Laura Salomon from Ashdod, who is vacationing with her daughter and friends in the Sea of Galilee, who undertook an operation to clean the beach.
"There is a small section here from Golan Beach to Doga Beach, which yesterday on a walk on the beach ... my heart was broken. Bags, today there is an operation and we will clean the beach. 50 meters clean. Happy holiday," said Salomon.

Enough disposable utensils!
The Kinneret Cities Association stated that by the end of July-August 2021, more than 1.5 million vacationers visited the quiet beaches of the association.
A total of 2.85 million vacationers have visited the union's beaches since the beginning of the year, even before the Tishrei holiday period.
For comparison, in all of 2020 there were 2.7 million vacationers, while in 2019 there were about 1.85 million people on the lake.
Since the beginning of the year, about 2,000 tons of garbage have been removed from the union's shores, 1,150 of them only in July-August (over 50% of the total amount so far).
The union operates a "explanatory" team - which moves between the vacationers on the union's beaches, explains the importance of keeping the beaches and water clean, and distributes garbage bags, as well as reusable cups in exchange for the "sleeves" of disposable cups.
Idan Greenbaum, chairman of the Sea of Galilee Cities Association, says that the union's beaches are ready for the absorption of vacationers on Sukkot, reinforcements, cleaning staff and security guards, in cooperation with the Israel Police, and that the beaches are networked with security cameras, which broadcast 24/7. Operating around the clock, and to a lake station, of the Israel Police in Tiberias.
Greenbaum asks the public to keep quiet, clean, patient and tolerant so that everyone has a happy and healthy Sukkot holiday.
