What makes a trip perfect for children?

It should be short, and yet - replete with experiences that come one after the other, without a dull moment.

Or in fact, without a "screen moment".

Because if you managed to get your children to walk in nature for a long time without looking at their phone screen - they will not forget it.

Check.

Baptisms and glitches: a water trip in Nahal Kibbutzim

There is nothing that makes children happier than finding a source of water in the heart of nature - and just leaping inside.

But here there is not just a leap in, but actually a walking route in the water, which is twice as cool.

One of the classic water trips for families with children awaits you in Nahal Kibbutzim in the Springs Valley, not far from Beit She'an.

Sandals / walking shoes, a hat, a swimsuit and an adventurous spirit are the four things you must bring with you on this easy trip.

You will not get lost - just walk in the water from the starting point to the spacious pool that is located across the concrete pipe bridge (walking with the direction of flow).

The way back can be done again in the water, or for a dry walk, by the water.

The route is about two kilometers long, and it is mandatory to know how to swim. This is not a regulated bathing site, there are no rescue services, and entering the water is the responsibility of the hikers.

Northern Mystery: The Great Juba in the Odem Forest

On the way north to the Golan Heights, tell the children that you are about to walk in an enchanted forest, in the center of which is a huge and mysterious pit.

When you get to that "pit", ask them how they think it was created.

You will be surprised by their answers: Aliens?

meteor?

spell?

Everything goes.

But come on, this is an ancient volcanic activity that created in the heart of the forest a huge crater, called the "Great Juba".

The crater, which is surrounded by dense forest, is about 250 meters in diameter and more than 50 meters deep.

You will not be able to go inside - but it is recommended to go around it to try and understand how huge it is.

In general, there is nothing like a trip to a remote forest in an autumnal atmosphere, to put the children in an atmosphere of fairy tales.

Sea of Adventure: Crocodile Creek

On the way to the Golan, did you talk about aliens?

Now is the time to talk about crocodiles.

In fact, crocodiles did live in Nahal Taninim.

The last of which was hunted in the early 20th century.

Just a minute and a half ago, in historical terms.

That does not mean you should not look for them, if you are here with children.

And if you do not find (and will not find), you can in a short time experience a sea of thrills that children love: walking on bridges over the water, finding hiding places in the stream vegetation, meeting an ancient and beautifully picturesque flour mill, getting to know a huge Roman dam, watching soft turtles And most fun: walking in an ancient aqueduct, from Roman times, where water flows all year round.

One hour - a sea of adventure.

Games in nature: Einot Telem National Park

Also nature, also games.

This perfect combination awaits you (or especially them, the little ones) in Einot Telem National Park, next to the Tel Aviv-Jerusalem road.

A few years ago, a playground using natural materials was inaugurated here, in the heart of the Cedars Valley.

And it's a lot cooler than it sounds.

In the beautiful space, where there are lots of fun picnic spots, you will find stone slabs featuring checkers, backgammon, macaque, maze, bowling from nature, submarine play and also facilities that will make the little ones jump.

Beauty of breaking a routine in the heart of the landscape.

It is also recommended to visit the old stone buildings of Einot Telem National Park, and even skip to the nearby Khalilim Cave.

Legends in the Forest: Norman Trail

The Norman Trail is the name of a hiking trail in a thick grove, trained by a resident of Kfar Vradim, Norman by name.

The trail seems to have been taken straight from the world of fairy tales, but only implicitly.

For example, the small sign "Snow White's house" will not lead you to a real house, but to a beautiful stone with the words "Snow White's house" written on it ... hence, give free rein to the imagination.

The same goes for "The Dwarfs Tunnel", "Lovers' Trail" and more.

And everything, as mentioned, is in a wonderful setting of a tangled grove.

The route itself is short, and marked with a special yellow marking.

You can also climb to the top of the hill, and get a beautiful view from its head.

Clinging in the air: The bridges that hang in Nesher Park

Two long bridges, narrow and a little scary, hang between the high banks of Nahal Katia in Carmel.

This is your setting for a fun half-day trip with the kids.

This area is called "Nesher Park", located in the city of Nesher near Haifa.

Beyond a great hiking trail that passes in the heart of the dim woods (not a must, but definitely recommended), what really magnetizes the kids here are these two bridges, which are about 70 meters long.

Here you will find that your children have reserves of energy that have only been saved for such situations: they will run, swing the bridges as much as they can and run along them again and again without a break.

We'll see you guys trying to get home from here.
