A 20-year-old girl - who had been vice-queen of the Luján de Cuyo grape harvest -
died in a head-on collision
between two cars on Route 40, in that Mendoza, about ten kilometers from the provincial capital.
Two other people were injured.
The incident occurred on Saturday on Route 40, a few meters away from Provincial Route 16.
The impact caused the death of a young woman, later identified as
Quimey Pozo
, who in 2019 was elected as vice-queen of the grape harvest of that town.
Quimey Pozo, viceroy of the Luján de Cuyo grape harvest, died in a traffic accident.
According to the Mendoza Post, Pozo was studying Kinesiology in the Uco Valley and had represented the Ugarteche district.
Her death generated commotion in social networks and even the mayor of Luján de Cuyo fired her.
"We deeply regret the death of our beloved Quimey Pozo, Former Departmental Vice-Queen. She represented the Ugarteche district. Strengths her family," Sebastián Bragagnolo posted.

From the first tests it emerged that the Peugeot 206 that Pozo was driving
lost control and crossed the lane
just when the other car, a Renault Clío, which was driving the opposite hand, rammed it head-on without being able to make an evasive maneuver.
As a result of the strong impact, both cars were left on the road and a call to the emergency line alerted the authorities about the accident.
Quimey Mailen Pozo was 20 years old, she drove a Peugeot and went alone.

Firefighters and police personnel arrived at the scene to rescue the victims and order traffic, which caused traffic delays in the area.
The rescuers managed to remove the driver of the Peugeot among the metals and
confirmed her death at the scene
due to the serious injuries she suffered.
Meanwhile, the occupants of Renault Clío were treated at the scene by doctors from the Coordinated Emergency Service (SEC) who found several multiple injuries, so they decided to transfer them to a hospital in the area.
Two other people were injured after the head-on collision.
