The recall affects the Rewe house brand sausage.
Salmonella were discovered in it.
The sausage went over the counter in all of North Rhine-Westphalia.
NRW / Dortmund - Rewe Dortmund currently has to recall a product of its own house brand.
The recall affects a variety of onion mince, which could be contaminated with salmonella.
We strongly advise against consuming the sausage (further recalls and warnings from RUHR24 *).

Recall at Rewe Dortmund: Mettwurst sold in North Rhine-Westphalia contaminated with salmonella
If you have Rewe house brand onion sausage lying in the fridge, you shouldn't smear it on your bread.
A batch of the sausage could be contaminated with salmonella.
If consumed, there is a risk of sudden diarrhea, headache and abdominal pain, general malaise and occasionally vomiting.
A health hazard cannot be ruled out with the affected product.
The company therefore reacted immediately and had the product withdrawn from sale immediately.
The recall of products that have already been sold is a precautionary measure in terms of preventive consumer protection.
Salmonella diseases are typical food infections.
The bacteria multiply very quickly, especially on unrefrigerated foods.
They get into our food, for example, through inadequate kitchen hygiene.
In addition to eggs and egg products, ice cream and raw meat or raw sausage such as ground meat are particularly often contaminated with salmonella.

The Mettwurst is the following product:
REWE house brand, onion sausage ball, approx. 90g
Best before date 09/26/2021
Batch: 60805470321
The sausage is sold over the service counter
Only Rewe branches in North Rhine-Westphalia are affected by the Mettwurst recall.
Products with a different best-before date and a different batch number are also not affected.
Most recently, Rewe had to recall another product from its own brands *: The organic apple pulp threatened to spoil early on, even before the best-before date had expired.
Customers can return the Mettwurst in the respective market and get the purchase price reimbursed, even without presenting the receipt.
