Birds for the whole family - free admission to JNF events on Sukkot

Millions of migratory birds over Israel and the Jewish National Fund are holding the KKL-JNF for the fourth year in a row, a colorful event rich in activities for families and children in several centers around the country.

The JNF Tzafraton events will include this year:

• Family event in Agmon Hefer - 26-9-21 Sunday, Sukkot, 20 Tishrei 5722, between the hours - 10: 00-16: 00.

• Special broadcast day - 26-9-21 Sunday of Sukkot, 20 Tishrei 5722, between the hours - 9: 00-17: 00. Broadcasts can be viewed on the Keren Kimat Israel website and the Walla website.

• Bird Photography Competition - 22.9 - 23.9. Announcement of the winners on the special broadcast day at 16:00.

• National birding marathon - for 24 hours on 30.9.21. The graduation event will take place at Agmon Hahula on 1-10-21.

Admission and registration for all Capernaum events is free!

The activity takes place in purple - there is no need to present corona tests. Masking is required.

At all family events there will be many activities: birding tours, drowning tutorials, bird counting, the young scientist on the phenomenon of magnetism and migration, preparation of a compass, a headphone party to learn the language of birds, bird games and more.

The bird photography competition

Traditional photography contest of Tzfrton JNF, which is now in its fourth year, has been replaced as one of the most important nature photography contest in Israel. The National Birding Marathon of the JNF

This year, on a one-time basis, the race will be held as a joint birding marathon of the Israeli Birding Center at the Society for the Protection of Nature, together with the JNF wings - the JNF's national birding network.

As every year, dozens of birdwatching teams will participate in the national birding marathon, with the aim of sampling as many species of birds as possible throughout Israel, for 24 consecutive hours.

This year the marathon will be held from midnight on 30.9.21 until midnight on 1.10.21.

This is a unique challenge that requires a deep and comprehensive acquaintance with the variety of bird habitats in Israel, and with the variety of bird species that can be seen everywhere.

The time limit requires teams to choose a strategy for optimal utilization of the limited time available to them, and to accurately calculate the appropriate arrival times for each habitat and the species of birds they expect to see.
