The Berlin punk rock band Die Ärzte has completely canceled their »In The Ä Tonight Tour« concerts planned for this year.

»Today is a black day«, it said on the homepage of the band of Bela B, Farin Urlaub and Rodrigo Gonzalez.

The tour had already been postponed due to corona.

The start of the sold-out concerts was last scheduled for October 30th in Berlin.

During the concert tour through 15 cities, 26 appearances in Germany, Switzerland and Austria were planned.

"For months, our tour operator KKT and our management, together with other members of the tour operator industry, have been trying to negotiate a nationwide uniform regulation for concerts," wrote the band in response to the rejection.

"That didn't work (so shortly before the elections)." Concerts are regulated differently depending on the federal state.

A "tour as big as the one we are planning with so much uncertainty about the permit situation" is not possible.

“And if the responsible authorities and politicians disagree about what is safe and healthy for everyone, how should we know?

Do we really want to take the risk of finding out, at the expense of your health, that we (or the authorities responsible) were wrong? ”The band asked their fans.

And gives the answer right away: "No."

For logistical and organizational reasons, it is not an option to wait for further developments.

"No matter how you twist and turn it: It's a damn shice situation." Tickets should be refunded, they said.

Next tour planned for summer 2022

The cancellation comes shortly before a new publication.

Around a year after the latest album "Hell", a total of 19 new songs have been announced for this Friday (September 24th) with the album "Dunkel".

The doctors have two more concert tours in the pipeline.

The band will play 14 open-air concerts in Germany, Switzerland and Austria next year during the "Buffalo Bill in Rome Tour 2022".

The start is on June 3rd in Hanover.

Also for 2022, the band has announced a tour only through the capital with 13 appearances, some in small clubs.

The “Berlin Tour MMXXII” leads through nine clubs and concert halls from May to August and also includes two open-air performances.
