The love for animals and the enormous courage of
Franco Pokrajac (20)
led him to commit
a heroic act that ended his life
.
The young man stopped his car to help a neighbor's dog that had fallen into an irrigation canal.
He jumped into the canal and
drowned
.
The tragedy occurred last Saturday afternoon in Mendoza.
Social networks expressed all the helplessness and pain of those who knew him and knew about his work as in the

was a volunteer

Around 5.30pm on Saturday, Franco was driving along with his mother around the corner of Almirante Brown and José de San Martín, in Luján de Cuyo, Greater Mendoza.
Down the street,
a
desperate
woman
ran
asking for help
because
her dog had fallen into the
Cacique Guaymallén agricultural irrigation
canal
.
The boy did not know her.
However, he stopped his car and came over to ask him what was wrong.
When he saw that the animal was dragged by the water, he
did not hesitate and threw himself to save it
.
But, also, Franco was swept away by the water current.

Franco did not emerge from the surface again.

appeared,

Volunteers from the NGO Animal Mission rescue abandoned and sick pets.
They heal animals and find a home for them.
Franco's volunteers and colleagues fired him as the great person he was.

: "He was always skateboarding and
the dogs followed him everywhere
. It was crazy how they loved him."
He recalled that when he found a sick dog, he would take it to the vet and cover the expenses.
"He put animals above all else," said the friend.
And he lamented: "The Skinny, the Deaf, the Black, Vizcacha, Malote and Mona, as their pets who adored them were called, are left alone."
