Prof. Galia Rahav: "Believes that children under the age of 12 will be vaccinated by the end of the year" (Walla system!)
Receiving the corona virus vaccine brings with it one distinct, clear and unequivocal advantage: it protects against severe morbidity of the virus and significantly reduces the risk of dying from covid-19 in case of infection.
And even if it was his only advantage - this vaccine would still be considered almost a miracle.
But recently, studies have emerged that point to a few more secondary benefits of this vaccine, and one such new one has identified its not entirely unexpected effect.
People who have been vaccinated against the corona virus may experience a significant improvement in their mental health, according to a new study published in the journal PLoS One.
In the study, the researchers monitored and followed participants who received the first dose of each of the corona vaccines that were available between December 2020 and March 2021.

The researchers found that vaccinators were less likely to suffer from mild-moderate symptoms of depression, compared with those who were not vaccinated, including people who wanted to be vaccinated but were unable to do so during the study period.
It should be noted that the study was conducted near the start of the global vaccination campaign, at a time when risk groups were prioritized, and not everyone in each age group could be vaccinated immediately.
Corona epidemic and mental health
Surveys and studies conducted around the world over the past year and a half in which it has been plagued by the corona epidemic, indicate a clear and unequivocal increase in mental health problems resulting from the global health crisis.
Health and welfare authorities are also reporting an increase in requests for help and treatment, which also come from populations that have not previously suffered from these problems.
Even before the outbreak of the corona epidemic, mental health experts knew how to link health and health concerns with an increase in stress and anxiety. .
How does the vaccine help?
Anxiety caused by the plague has other sources, not all of which are health.
For example, many suffered from stress and anxiety resulting from the damage to their employment and economic security as a result of the secondary effects of the epidemic on the economies and economies of the world.
And the researchers in the present study do not know how to say exactly what getting vaccinated makes people suddenly feel better mentally in the face of all these sacks of anxieties and fears.
Apparently it is a combination of several factors.
Less social distance, less anxiety for yourself and your loved ones, less depression.

First, vaccinated people may be less afraid of being infected and getting sick.
Because of this, they may be more socially active and experience more employment opportunities, the researchers wrote.
Past research has already well established the detrimental effect of social distance and isolation on people's mental health, and the vaccine reduces these as well.
However, the researchers stressed that they do not in any way claim that the vaccine may be a solution to the many mental and mental problems that result from the plague.
But their findings should be treated as another secondary outcome resulting from receiving the vaccine in the short term.

Alongside this they also said that it is quite possible that the effect of the vaccine on mental resilience is even greater than their study was able to quantify and that it may also benefit people who have not been vaccinated.
For, even unvaccinated people may feel safer and less anxious due to the fact that there are more vaccinated people around them or from the knowledge that those close to them and their loved ones have been vaccinated - thus reducing their level of anxiety towards them at least, if not about themselves.
Also, those who have not yet been vaccinated can enjoy the positive consequences for the economy and society that have manifested themselves as the percentage of vaccinators in the population has increased: opening schools, returning to jobs, opening restaurants and entertainment complexes, etc.
That's what the researchers explained.
