The Dax of the Frankfurt Stock Exchange was unlucky for its passage from 30 to 40 values.
The index opened in the red on Monday, losing 2.33%.
The "Dax 40" was evolving at just under 15,200 points, the lowest since July, undermined like other European indices by the collapse of the Chinese giant Evergrande, on the verge of bankruptcy.
In Paris, the CAC 40 yielded just over 2% and the Eurostoxx 50 dropped 2.25%.

Most of the ten new stocks, previously listed on the Mdax of average values, like the aircraft manufacturer Airbus (-3.5%) or the car manufacturer Porsche (-4.90%) are down.
In chemicals, the world leader in the distribution of chemicals Brenntag (-2.21%) is also in the red, while the producer of fragrances and flavors Symrise (-0.30%) limits breakage.
The sports equipment manufacturer Puma (-1.42%) is on the other hand struggling, the online clothing and footwear site Zalando lost more than 3.5% and the Hellofresh meal delivery company fell 1.6%.
Health resists
The health in the spotlight in the Dax 40, on the other hand, is showing resistance: the biotech laboratory Qiagen is up 1.14%.
The Siemens Healthineers medical technician (-0.034%) is practically in equilibrium as is the Sartorius laboratory (-0.44%).
The expansion of the Dax to forty stocks, such as the French CAC40 and the FTSE Mib in Milan, gives it more diversity and aligns it with international standards.
Make people forget the Wirecard scandal
This reform of Dax aims to restore the image of the index seriously damaged by the resounding bankruptcy of Wirecard in June 2020. This finance start-up had triumphantly entered Dax barely two years earlier. New governance rules are in force for the Dax with the change from 30 to 40 stocks. From now on, Dax candidates must present at least two years of positive operational results (Ebitda) and a minimum level of liquidity.
