Volleyball: 3-2 to Slovenia, Italy wins the European Championships

The Italy of volleyball is on top of Europe.

After the success of the women's national team, the men's team led by Ferdinando De Giorgi also won the continental title by beating Slovenia 3-2 in a very tight final.

It is the seventh continental title for the Italian national team, which returns as European champion as it hasn't happened since 2005.

A very painful final won at the tie break against a very strong Slovenia, and who lost the third final of the last four European Championships. It is the first time in the history of Italian volleyball that the Azzurri and the Italians won in the same edition. Likewise, it is the first time that the Italian national team closes the competition undefeated. It takes De Giorgi's jolt during the time out to give strength to the Azzurri: "What are those faces, you are playing a final". However, Italy suffers, especially in reception.
