(ANSA) - ROME, SEPTEMBER 22 - "Following the strikes in the air transport sector proclaimed by some trade unions for the whole day of Friday, September 24, 2021, Alitalia was forced to cancel a series of flights, both national and international, scheduled for that day". It can be read on the airline's website, which publishes the list of canceled flights: there are 161 cancellations, equal to 62% of scheduled flights on Friday. To limit the inconvenience, it should be noted, Alitalia has activated an extraordinary plan with more capacious aircraft, with the aim of rebooking travelers involved in cancellations.
Meanwhile, the mobilization of Alitalia workers continues after the breakdown of the negotiations with Ita on the contract and sullacigs. New meetings are underway in Fiumicino on the square in front of the entrance to the Alitalia building. Over 500 Alitalia workers, controlled by the police, also moved in a procession at Fiumicino airport.
