How much is the child allowance?
The child allowance is

Which requirements have to be met?
Only parents with a low income receive the child allowance.
The following requirements must be met for this:
Parents receive child benefit
The gross income is at least 900 euros per month for parents and at least 600 euros for single parents
The parents do not receive any unemployment benefit II
The child must be under 25 years of age and live in the same household as the parents.
It may not be married or in a partnership (registered civil partnership).
Decisive for the entitlement to child allowance is the income of the last six months before the application is submitted.

Further income and assets of the parents and the child are offset against the child allowance.
