(ANSA) - PARIS, SEPTEMBER 22 - "The surge of generosity" to finance the renovation of the Notre-Dame de Paris cathedral, partially destroyed by the fire of April 15, 2019, "does not run out", with just over 840 million euros collected gifts: this is what was announced today by General Jean-Louis Georgelin, president of the public body in charge of rebuilding the famous Parisian cathedral.
Collected thanks to French and foreign donors, this sum "allows us to face a future of trust", continued Georgelin, speaking before the Culture Commission of the French Senate.
As for the timetable, the senior manager confirmed the intention of a reopening in 2024, the same year as the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. (ANSA).
