Islamic treasures of the Louvre on tour against preconceptions

Eighteen French cities will host exhibitions this winter recalling the richness of exchanges between East and West.


A year ago, at Les Mureaux, Emmanuel Macron gave his speech on the fight against separatism, calling in particular to fight Islamism

"while respecting the principles of the Republic"

.

One of the enactments of this declaration, which touches on education and culture, was detailed on September 21 in the Louvre auditorium.

The museum and the Reunion of National Museums, represented by their respective president Laurence des Cars and Chris Dercon, launched the operation "Arts of Islam - A past for a present".

Or, from November 20 until March 27, eighteen exhibitions, all for educational and civic purposes but all different, set up in a museum, a media library or a gallery in seventeen cities of the Hexagon.

And also on the island of Reunion.
