The cancellation of the continued payment of wages for unvaccinated people in quarantine is currently hotly debated.
A recent survey now provides explosive results that no employer will like.
For a few weeks
now
, politics and interest groups have been discussing the continued
payment of wages for corona-unvaccinated people
: Is it justified that those who refuse to be vaccinated
continue to receive a salary
in the officially ordered
quarantine case
- or not?
After all, the compensation payments are ultimately financed by taxpayers ’money.
Baden-Württemberg has already canceled continued wages, other federal states such as North Rhine-Westphalia or Rhineland-Palatinate will follow suit in the next few weeks *.
It is still open whether a nationwide regulation will follow.
But what do employees actually think of this regulation - be it vaccinated or unvaccinated?
The job platform
Indeed
, together with YouGov, carried out a representative survey of 2,216 workers in Germany.

Corona: 6 out of 10 vaccinated people support the cancellation of continued wages
The survey results initially show that Germany's employees are ahead of the average when it comes to corona vaccination: 77 percent of those surveyed said they had already been vaccinated against Covid-19, 3.5 percent still intend to do so.
Five percent are still undecided, only
13 percent speak himself entirely to a corona vaccination
of BioNTech, Moderna & Co. of
.
For Indeed managing director Frank Hensgens, however, this is not enough: He feels it is profoundly lacking in solidarity to decide against a corona vaccination - although there is now enough vaccine available: "Many employers and professionals are currently preparing for the second Corona autumn before ", he announced in a press release. “In my experience, the safety and health of everyone involved is the top priority in the vast majority of cases. It is therefore regrettable that a small minority of working people is not prepared to exercise similar caution and apparently even
approve of endangering colleagues
. "
The majority of those who have been vaccinated (66 percent) have a similar view: According to the survey results, they have no understanding if people do not want to be vaccinated against the virus, which at least leads to severe disease and even death.
In this respect, it is not surprising that
6 out of 10 vaccinated people support the abolition of continued wages for unvaccinated people in quarantine cases
.

Cancellation of continued wages does not motivate vaccination
The key question, however, is: Does the prospect of lower wages perhaps “motivate” vaccinators and those who are undecided to be vaccinated against Covid-19 after all?
Or does it mean that those who are still planning to immunize can be vaccinated faster?
The survey also provides a clear answer to this:
81 percent of
those
who have not been vaccinated say: No!
Only 11 percent of those questioned would be able to change their minds through this measure.

Half of the unvaccinated workers would hide quarantine from employers
However, the survey also shows that the cancellation of continued wages may have a negative effect: According to the survey, half of the unvaccinated men (50 percent) would withhold their officially ordered quarantine from their employers.
In the case of women, it is 39 percent.
This would increase the risk of infection again, especially for the direct colleagues at work.
However, it is not clear in the survey whether the impending loss of wages is the main reason for this or whether other reasons for the respondents play a role.
Many unvaccinated people would also not be enthusiastic about
a
corona vaccination obligation at work
.
According to an earlier survey, 90 percent of all non-vaccinated people would draw severe consequences. *
