A motorist ran over four pedestrians on the Champs-Élysées in Paris and injured them seriously.
At the red light of a pedestrian crossing, the woman apparently slipped her foot off the brake onto the accelerator, wrote the newspaper "Le Parisien" on Wednesday about the incident on Tuesday evening.
The small car shot forward on the median, hit four people and dragged one of the victims with it.
Three injured people had to be taken to hospital.
As the newspaper wrote with reference to the police, the woman had apparently consumed nitrous oxide in the car with her passenger.
The broadcaster BFMTV reports that the woman even filmed herself while consuming the laughing gas in front of a red light.
