VIDEO. A fight breaks out between two boxers during a press conference

The fight between Mexican Canelo Alvarez and American Caleb Plant started earlier than expected.

While they stood a few inches from each other during the traditional face-to-face, superstar Canelo Alvarez violently jostled his opponent and the press conference on Tuesday, September 21 turned into a confrontation .

Caleb Plant responded immediately by throwing a narrowly missed left hook before receiving the Mexican boxer's fist in the face.

The two were immediately separated by those present at the foot of the platform in the Beverly Hills hotel courtyard, which hosted the event.

At the origin of the brawl: insults allegedly uttered against Canelo Alvarez's mother.

"He can tell me what he wants but not to my mother," reacted the latter once calm returned and the press conference began.

“All we did was stare at each other.

He had something to say, I had something to say.

He was going to hit me, I was going to hit him.

And then he did what he did, ”explained Plant before accusing his competitor of doping.

"You are a cheater," he said against Canelo Alvarez, recalling the latter's suspension for six months in 2018, after having tested positive for clenbuterol.

The two boxers will face each other on November 6 in Las Vegas and the winner will be crowned the undisputed world champion of the category.
