A man dropped his EC card at Dortmund Central Station.
After a woman had given them back to him, the man followed her and her companion.
The 32-year-old gave the finder a light slap on the bottom, whereupon she turned around and slapped the man.
Then the 26-year-old's man is said to have hit the face with his fist and fled, as the federal police announced.
The victim then went to the police station at the main train station and reported the man.
The crime was filmed via video surveillance at the station.
When she left the station, the woman recognized the attacker.
The officers arrested the man, whom the police knew, and initiated criminal proceedings for assault and sexual harassment.
