Listeria have been detected in the smoked roast beef from “Suho Mesa Zarebnica”.

The product is currently being recalled in several federal states - including Bavaria.

Gießen - The Federal Office for Consumer Protection and Food Safety is currently warning about the consumption of the smoked roast beef "Suho Mesa Zarebnica" from the company Kelmendi Lebensmittel from Gießen via the portal Lebensmittelwarnung.de. The product is currently being recalled because of the evidence of listeria; the best before date November 3, 2021 is affected. The product was sold in 400 gram packaging, the states of Bavaria, Baden-Württemberg, Hesse, Lower Saxony, North Rhine-Westphalia and Rhineland-Palatinate are expressly stated warned

Listeria usually occurs within 14 days and manifests itself as diarrhea and fever.

Especially people with a weakened immune system, i.e. senior citizens and pregnant women, are susceptible to severe disease.

Even blood poisoning and meningitis are possible.

In pregnant women, even the unborn child can be harmed, so those affected who have eaten the product should seek medical treatment without symptoms.

Recall: Smoked roast beef can be returned in retail stores

In healthy people, listeriosis is usually harmless or is hardly noticed. Consumers who have not yet eaten the roast beef can return it to retail outlets for a refund. If you are not sure whether your purchased goods are affected, you can check the identity number "PL 04140319 WE" printed on the back label. The company does not provide any information on sales outlets, so a nationwide sale cannot be ruled out.

Most recently, a nut spread was recalled because of broken glass.

Serious injuries and internal bleeding could occur if consumed.

The “Beste Land Qualität” brand has also launched a recall for a pasta product.
