After the large-scale deployment of special forces in a Düsseldorf hotel, the police are investigating suspicion of dating a crime.
The gun of the 40-year-old, who is in custody, turned out to be a blank gun, the police and the public prosecutor said.
A large amount of live ammunition was also discovered in his hotel room.
In addition, the emergency services discovered documents that indicated that certain people were at risk.
They were contacted and warned on Saturday night.
The arrested person should not have a criminal record, but is still known to the police.
Police work for hours
On Friday, September 17, the police set an enormous number of special units in motion because an "acute danger situation" could not be ruled out at first.
Several special task forces combed the cleared building for hours.
An armored car also drove up.
The surrounding streets had been cordoned off over a large area.
The hotel couldn't open again until Monday morning.
Due to the police operation, about 550 guests had to leave the hotel on Friday.
