A mask refuser is said to have kicked and threatened a passenger on a train near Bad Kreuznach.
She also alluded to the fatal shots in Idar-Oberstein, the police said.
The injured party drove on a regional train on Thursday afternoon and was kicked in the thigh from behind by the mask refuser, it said.
The woman turned around, asked the reason for the attack and asked the fellow travelers to put on a mask.
Then the fellow traveler became aggressive, insulted the woman and said: "You know what happened in Idar-Oberstein, you should also be shot."
Videos are supposed to show the attacker
The woman is said to have subsequently refused to identify herself to the injured party.
She took a photo of the woman and contacted the federal police.
The investigation was currently underway there to identify the perpetrator.
The authority also arranged for cameras from the regional train to be evaluated, and the attacker should be clearly visible on videos.
A 49-year-old German is accused of having shot a 20-year-old cashier in the gas station in Idar-Oberstein.
The young man had previously advised him of the mask requirement.
After his arrest, the man confessed to the investigation, according to investigators, and said that he opposed the corona measures.
