The incidence of Covid cases in Italy and the transmissibility index Rt

In the period 1 - 14 September 2021, the mean Rt calculated on symptomatic cases was equal to 0.82 (range 0.81 - 0.82), below the epidemic threshold and down compared to the previous week when it was 0.85 .
The incidence for the period 17-23 September dropped to 45 cases per 100,000 inhabitants compared to 54 last week.
It emerges from the draft of the weekly monitoring on the Covid-19 epidemic at the examination of the control room that will be illustrated today.
The employment rate in intensive care of Covid patients in Italy is slightly decreasing: to 5.4 with a reduction in the number of people hospitalized from 554 (14/09/2021) to 516 (21/09/2021) compared to 6.1 of the past week.
The employment rate in medical areas nationwide, according to data as of 21 September, decreased slightly to 6.8% from 7.2.
The number of people hospitalized in these areas is slightly decreasing from 4,165 (14/09/2021) to 3,937 (21/09/2021).

Also this week there are
4 Regions / Autonomous Provinces (PA) that are classified at moderate risk
: Piedmont, PA Bolzano, PA Trento and Valle d'Aosta. The remaining 17 Regions / PPAA are classified as low risk. Last week the moderate risk regions were Abruzzo, Molise (which come out of the moderate risk classification), PA Bolzano and PA Trento, highlights the draft.
Sicily, the Autonomous Province of Bolzano and Calabria are the Regions / PAs that this week record the highest value of the incidence of Covid-19 cases, one of the key decision-making indicators, again according to the draft.
They record, respectively, an incidence equal to 79.5 per 100 thousand inhabitants (Sicily), 70.6 (PA Bolzano) and 63.6 (Calabria).
The highest percentage of occupancy of beds in the medical area is instead in Calabria (18.5%), Sicily (17.3%), Basilicata (15.4%).
For intensive care, the greatest employment is in the PA Bolzano (11.3%), Sicily (10.7%) and Marche (9.6%).
