(ANSA) - ROME, SEPTEMBER 24 - "This morning as the promoting committee of the Cannabis Referendum we demonstrated in front of the Ministry of Justice to ask for an urgent intervention by the government to avoid the violation of the rights of the almost 600 million citizens who signed the referendum, and the discriminatory treatment that this referendum initiative is subtracting from the others that are underway at the same time in our country ". Riccardo Magi, deputy and president of Più Europa and one of the promoters of the Cannabis referendum, writes on Facebook. "What we feared would happen is happening: many of the Italian municipalities are not responding to the PEC with which we have requested the electoral certificates of all the signatories of the referendum.By law, the municipalities should send the certificates within the non-extendable term of 48 hours from the request, which has already elapsed. Now, all the more so, there is a clear need for a government act that also applies the deadline of 31/10 for the cannabis referendum as for other referendum initiatives.
