The suspended RTL reporter Susanna Ohlen should work again for the TV station.
As the media portal DWDL.de reports, her exemption will end from next week.
However, the editor-in-chief and management of RTL News decided not to use Ohlen as a presenter anymore.
Instead, she will work as an editorial planner in the future - behind the camera.
In July 2021, Ohlen reported for RTL about clean-up work after the flood disaster in western Germany.
When shooting in Bad Münstereifel, she had mud on her face and on her clothes.
Video footage showed that she had previously smeared it on herself.
Violation of journalistic principles
Obviously she wanted to give the impression that she herself helped with the relief work on site.
Ohlen later apologized for her behavior.
She wrote on Instagram that she had made a "serious mistake".
She was ashamed of "standing in front of the camera in a clean top."
At the time, RTL spoke of a violation of the company's journalistic principles and standards and then released the reporter.
Ohlen, last seen repeatedly as a presenter on the show "Guten Morgen Deutschland", has already worked as a planner for the so-called life department of the station and is now apparently taking up this activity again.
She will probably not be used in front of the camera for the foreseeable future.
