(ANSA) - WASHINGTON, 24 SEPTEMBER - All the migrants, most of them Haitians, who for some time had lived camped under the Del Rio bridge on the border between Mexico and the United States, in Texas, were evacuated.
The US Interior Minister Alejandro Mayorkas officially confirmed this, explaining how about 2,000 people were expelled and repatriated to their countries of origin, and how another 8,000 decided to return to Mexico voluntarily.
The remaining 5,000 migrants were transferred to reception centers pending their asylum applications.
