Big spice recall before Saturday shopping: Salmonella risk in various products from Aldi, Lidl, Penny & Co.

Various spice mixtures are currently being recalled because of the health risk posed by salmonella.

They were sold at Aldi, Lidl, Norma and Penny, among others.

Munich - The company Raimung Hofmann GmbH informs customers about a large-scale recall.

A number of spice mixtures are affected.

During a control, salmonella was detected in a sample.

There is a health risk - warnings are given against consumption.

Recall from Aldi, Lidl, Penny and Co .: spices affected

According to a press release by the company, there is suspicion that the basil, which was apparently used in all spice blends, was contaminated with salmonella.

The raw material was therefore only used in a small percentage.

In addition, a risk of heating can be further excluded.

Nevertheless, the consumption of the products can lead to malaise, diarrhea, vomiting and fever.

The company asks affected consumers to consult a doctor and to point out the suspicion of salmonella.

The incubation time is therefore usually 48 hours.

Big spice recall at Aldi Lidl and Co.

To be on the safe side, various spice mixtures, which have also been sold in a number of different supermarkets in and outside Germany, are now being recalled.

The products were sold at Aldi Süd, Aldi Nord, Lidl, Norma and Penny, among others, but they were also on the shelves in branches of Reimo, Hofer and Aldo Portugal.

However, only certain batches of the respective goods are affected.

Customers can return these to the store where they were purchased.
