Google introduces two new tools to allow people with disabilities to use the smartphone with their face and eyes, there are already functions related to the voice assistant.
The changes are the result of an Android app called 'Project Activate' which allows you to use a series of facial gestures to initiate an action with your phone, to send a text or to make a call.
And a new feature called 'Camera Switch' that allows you to navigate the Android interface with your face.
"Every day, people use voice commands like 'Hey Google', or their hands for their phones, this isn't always possible for people with severe motor and language disabilities - writes the company on its blog - to make Android more accessible to all, we are launching new tools that make it easier to control the phone and communicate via facial gestures. "
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention estimates that 61 million adults in the United States live with disabilities, which has prompted Google and rivals Apple and Microsoft to make their products and services more accessible.
The free 'Activate' app is available in Australia, Great Britain, Canada and the United States in the Google Play store.
