The digital revolution that is bringing ultra-broadband to the Marche continues, where citizens of small villages navigate at a connection speed never achieved before thanks to the new network created by Open Fiber as part of the Infratel calls for the Bul plan. The progress of the works was illustrated in a press conference in Ripatransone (Ascoli Piceno) at the headquarters of Moretti Design, a company of the Ascoli production fabric, by the president of the Marche Region Francesco Acquaroli and by the vice president and councilor for Digitization Mirco Carloni. Also present were Roberto Tognaccini, head of the network and operations of Central Italy Open Fiber; Stefano Rigano, Open Fiber Marche and Umbria, and Giulio Gioia, Infratel area manager. The day also saw the interventions of the mayor of Ripatransone Alessandro Lucciarini De Vincenzi and the school director of the local “Fazzini Mercatini” Institute of Ripatransone Sabrina Vallesi who testified to the importance of fiber for students. In the white areas - peripheral areas and rural villages - of the Region, Open Fiber is building an ultra-broadband infrastructure, mainly in FTTH mode - Fiber To The Home, the fiber that arrives inside homes and companies - which will remain public property and will be managed by the company under concession for 20 years. The cabling plan currently sees 74,000 real estate units and 494 points of public interest connected, including schools, museums, municipal offices in 88 municipalities scattered throughout the provinces. The plan, which involves 216 municipalities, will be completed in 2022.In the municipality of Ripatransone, the construction sees 1,746 real estate units with FTTH technology connected and available to citizens, through a new infrastructure of 23 kilometers, and another 400 in ultra-broadband with FWA (Fixed Wireless Access) technology.
