How the government intends to fight against long-term unemployment
In an interview with
Les Échos
, Jean Castex explains his objective: to make
"the strongest possible growth and the richest in jobs".
The government will release an envelope of 1.4 billion euros, including 900 million euros in 2021 and 500 million euros in 2022.

assures the Prime Minister. The government assumes
"the bias of giving maximum priority to in-company training"
and 600 million euros should thus benefit SMEs with 51 to 300 employees, to train their employees.
New agreements will also be signed with the regions and Pôle Emploi to train 1.4 million job seekers in 2022, regardless of their level of qualification.
The objective being also to tackle long-term unemployment, it was decided to extend over the whole year 2022 the hiring aid put in place for work-study students - 5,000 euros for a minor and 8 000 euros for a major -,
"which works very well for young people",
underlines Jean Castex, to all unemployed job seekers for more than a year.
As for the commitment income, announced by the President of the Republic but whose outlines are slow to emerge, the Prime Minister recalls that the government
"is in a contractual logic"
and that there is no question of establishing a RSA young people.
