Strangers stole a 25,000 euro painting from an artist on an ICE from Cologne to Munich.

This is reported by the federal police.

The 44-year-old was therefore on the way to an auction.

According to the police, he had put the work of art in a niche between two seats when driving on Friday.

He fell asleep shortly after the train left.

When he woke up again and wanted to get off in Munich, the police reported, his picture was gone.

The man reported the theft to the federal police.

However, an evaluation of the video recordings at the train station initially did not reveal any information about the perpetrator (s).
