Cinema: receipts + 18%, Dune still in the lead

(ANSA) - ROME, SEPTEMBER 27 - According to data provided by Cinetel, the receipts of Italian cinemas, in the weekend between 23 and 26 September, still recorded an increase of 18%, compared to the totals of the previous week, 4,833 .489 euros, 4.115.925 euros of the previous one.

    At the top of the ranking we find for the second week "Dune", a film by Denis Villeneuve (same director of Arrival eBlade Runner 2049) presented in world premiere at the Mostradel cinema in Venice Out of competition, based on the science fiction book Frank Herbert, remake with a stellar cast of the film already transposed on the screen in 1984 by David Lynch: 1,412,785 euros, total 4,408,435 euros. Four new entries from the top ten follow. At the second post we find "Space Jam: New Legends" by Malcolm D. Lee, where cinema and animated drawing return to merge in the name of one of the most popular basketball players (inspired by an advertisement with basketball legend Michael Jordan) of all times, who is captured here with his son, in a parallel reality where a perfidious artificial intelligence reigns. The film,cost $ 80 million, it grossed $ 250 million worldwide. With us 1,197,092 euros in four days from the release. Third position for the new film by NanniMoretti, based on the novel of the same name by the Israeli writer Eshkol Nevo, "Three floors", which scored € 631,230. Fourth step for the new "Paw Patrol: The Film", computer generated animation genre, based on the homonymous TV series created by Keith Chapman. The film, produced by Spin Master Entertainment, the toy company behind the series, with animation provided by Mikros Image, fetched € 258,729, 313,725 in four days.
