This is how we make French fries like McDoland's (@cheftimclowers)

While the McDonald's burger has a number of worthy competitors, when it comes to fries - there are many who claim that there is not and will not be like the McDonald's fries. No matter how many times we made French fries at home - it never reached the excellent level of flavor and crispiness of McDonald's. Now Chef Timothy Clovers is ready to swear he has the secret recipe for the famed French fries and he is also ready to share it with us. In the Tiktok video, he demonstrates exactly how we can make the chips at home - and the recipe includes only one secret ingredient and especially the correct timing of cooking.

In the short video he shows how he first peels the potatoes and soaks them for several hours in water. He then cuts them into circles and then into long pieces of chips. He puts the chips in salted boiling water for only 4 minutes, after which he filters the chips and spreads them on a pan. He also puts the chips in the fridge at this time, but you do not have to.

He then fills a pot with oil and brings it to a temperature of 176 degrees.

He uses vegetable oil but also adds a third cup of duck fat to - he says - "make things happy".

Only after the oil has reached the desired heat, it adds to the pot the chips and fry it for 10-12 minutes.

that's it.

Strain the chips, place it on a paper towel to absorb the oil, add a little salt if necessary and serve to the table.
