Supported by some mutuals, psychological consultations should soon be reimbursed by Health Insurance as soon as they are prescribed.
This measure, which aims to facilitate access to psychological care, should be announced this afternoon by the President of the Republic, Emmanuel Macron, at the end of the meeting of mental health and psychiatry, according to RTL information.

The mental health of the French has indeed deteriorated sharply over the course of the health crisis.
According to a Coviprev survey carried out by Public Health France from August 31 to September 7, 63% of French people still report sleep problems despite the end of confinements, or 14 points more than before the crisis.
In addition, 10% of them admit to having had suicidal thoughts over the past year, which is 5% more than before the crisis.
Faced with this deterioration, the government would plan to allow, from 2022, the support of the consultation of a city psychologist for the entire population, regardless of age or resources.
Each French person will thus be able to request to benefit from a renewable fixed price, on prescription.
However, certain details remain to be defined, such as the amount paid for each consultation to avoid an explosion in costs, specifies RTL.
Measure supported by the Court of Auditors
This measure thus intends to generalize an experiment underway since 2018 in four departments (Bouches-du-Rhône, Haute-Garonne, Morbihan, Landes).
Their inhabitants can indeed benefit from a 100% reimbursement of sessions with a psychologist or approved psychotherapist.
According to information from Echoes, the government has provided 60 million euros in the Social Security financing bill to cushion this measure.

The reimbursement of consultations has already received a blank check from the Court of Auditors.
In a report published last February, the Court already recommended the generalization of reimbursement of consultations, which it then amounted to 85 million euros.

It is thanks to the implementation of proven therapeutic solutions at moderate cost that we will avoid abusive and often ineffective use of specialized care, which is more expensive
", argued the Court.
This measure would even allow, according to her, "
a net gain
".
Based on the example of our European neighbors who already reimburse all or part of the consultations (Germany, Austria, Spain, Sweden, etc.), the Court of Auditors specifies that these consultations indeed make it possible to save money thanks to the reduction prescriptions for work stoppages and psychotropic drugs.
