The series will be available exclusively in France on October 15 on Amazon Prime Video. Six episodes retrace the course of the French rapper, from his beginnings to his consecration.

Amazon Prime Video has finally unveiled the trailer for its new documentary series, called

Never Show That To Anyone

and dedicated to rapper Orelsan.

Six episodes available from October 15 and the first two of which are presented out of competition at the Canneseries festival, which will be held from October 8 to 13.

“If I told you that, for a guy a little lost, it was impossible to fill the biggest cinemas in France, to make hundreds of millions of views, but that I believed in it from the start”

.

The voice-over of the trailer is that of Clément Cotentin, Orelsan's little brother, who followed him for nearly twenty years with his camera, the equivalent of 2000 hours of filming.

He co-directed the documentary alongside Christophe Offenstein, director of

Comment c'est loin,

where Orelsan plays the main role.

"I started filming from the first small theaters where there were not yet many people, I was the little brother, convinced that he was going to hit everything

,

"

Clément Cotentin told AFP. Cut into six episodes of around forty minutes each, the documentary looks back on the originality of the career of this son of teachers from a small town in Normandy. From his beginnings to the biggest sold-out concert halls, Clément Contentin mixes his

“little brother's point of view for whom everyone [in music, Editor's note] is fantastic”

at first glance, nuancing on a sometimes

“more complicated”

reality

.

“It took a long time for Orel ', I show how little by little a career is built, my brother did not experience this boom of artists who succeed immediately at a very young age”

.

transparently evokes the ups and downs of Orelsan's career, such as the controversy surrounding the song

.

"It was not just thirty canceled concert dates but possibly the career of a promising singer who stops"

, as summarized Maxime Delauney, producer at Nolita Cinema.

Prosecuted for provoking violence against women, the rapper was released in 2016.

Today a journalist, Clément Cotentin believes that

"the right moment"

has arrived to unearth his archives after the consecration of

La fête est finie

, Orelsan's last studio album released in 2017. With this disc, the artist leaves the box rap to be listened to by a very large audience. Crowned with success, he even collected three Victoires de la musique in 2018.

"It is extremely rare to film an artist for so long on a daily basis, to see the starting point of a vocation and to attend the entire route",

specifies Justine Planchon, general manager in charge of mediawan content. Prod (Third Eye umbrella organization, documentary co-producer).

Besides the friends and the family of Orelsan, other artists intervene in this series, such Stromae or Gims.

"The documentary can provide the keys to enter my brother's world, to

understand his second degree, his distancing from reality, his characters,"

says Clément Cotentin.

And see what he has done in the past and what he will do in the future. "
