(ANSA) - ROME, OCTOBER 06 - Some former footballers in Australia have denounced a toxic environment of abuse and sexual harassment in sport. In an interview with the Sidney Daily Telegraph, the former Matildas striker Lisa de Vanna spoke of the horrible harassment suffered by the former teammates. "Was I sexually harassed? Yes. Was I a victim of bullying? Yes? Blocked? Yes. Did I see things that made me uncomfortable? Yes," she said. Another former player, Rhali Dobson, reported that she suffered from the harassment as soon as she joined the team.
The Australian Football Federation said it was not aware of the events but announced the opening of an internal investigation.
