(ANSA) - ROME, OCTOBER 06 - A rare collection of Mohammad Ali's drawings were auctioned in New York for almost 1 million dollars. This was reported by CBS Twenty-six works dedicated to boxing, but also to civil rights, to world peace, the subjects who were most at heart to the legend of boxing who died in 2016. Some are signed, in others Muhammad Ali has portrayed himself.

The most anticipated piece, 'Sting like a bee', sold for $ 425,000, ten times the pre-auction estimate. The final sale price of all works, 945,524 dollars, was three times the forecast.

The works come from the private collection of collector and friend of boxer Rodney Hilton Brown, who said that Ali created the first drawings for him after a match in Boston in 1977. (ANSA).
