Can the South Korean series "Bridgerton" dethrone?

“Squid Game” more and more popular?

It looks very much like that.

After all, the series is in first place in the Netflix * Top 10 in almost all countries worldwide. And that relatively quickly after its release on September 17, 2021. This means that the series is well on its way to becoming one of the most successful series of all time to overthrow the stream service.

Not only “Bridgerton” has to tremble, other shows such as “House of Money” are no longer safe from “Squid Game”.

Netflix: The Most Successful Series of All Time

If "Squid Game" made it into the league of the most successful Netflix series of all time, it would at least be surrounded by worthy competitors. The

first season of "Bridgerton"

is currently number

1 with 625 million hours of series

. The fourth season "House of Money" brings it to a proud 619 million. And also the 3rd season “Stranger Things” can book 582 million hours for itself. If one considers the number of those users who

watched

a series for at least two minutes

within the first month after publication

, then these series emerge as the three best: "Bridgerton" with 82 million households, "Lupine" Part 1 and the 1. Season "The Witcher" each reached 76 million people.

These numbers were posted by Alex Heath, who writes for the tech blog The Verge and was at CodeCon.

Ted Sarandos, Chief Content Officer (CCO) and Co-CEO of Netflix, announced the evaluations at the fair.

He also stated that “Squid Game” could well be the best series of all time.

Sarandos just released some data here at #CodeCon about the number of viewers for its Emmy-winning shows.

Accounts in the first slide are counted if they watched for at least 2 minutes.

He says it's part of a push to be more transparent about Netflix's viewing data.

With the disclosure of the numbers, Netflix was probably more transparent about its series and film successes than ever before.

Netflix: "Squid Game" is becoming one of the best series

Since “Squid Game” got off to an extremely successful start from the start, it could well move up into the league.

If the series were actually to overthrow “Bridgerton”, it would mean that

more than 82 million viewers have seen “Squid Game”

- or at least two minutes of it.

Whether this is really the case can be said as soon as the series is available for more than four weeks.

But the competition never sleeps.

After all, the second season of "Bridgerton" can be expected in 2022.
