When it gets cooler and darker faster outside, all autumn fans cheer. Because it's time to get out the leaf decorations, carve pumpkins and also ring in the culinary autumn. In addition to pumpkin dishes, apple pie * and the like, there is a drink that is predestined for the wet and cold season:

Pumpkin Spice Latte

. Originally an invention of the Starbucks coffee house, this cult drink has enjoyed increasing popularity over the past few years, including homemade. The ingredients: coffee, milk, spices such as cinnamon, nutmeg and ginger - and of course the eponymous pumpkin. It comes in the form of

pumpkin puree

into it.

And now the good news for vegans: You can also conjure up your favorite vegan drink in a super easy way by simply using a plant-based drink of your choice instead of cow's milk.

Vegan Recipe for Pumpkin Spice Latte: The Ingredients

For 2 glasses or cups of Pumpkin Spice Latte you will need:

  • 450 ml vegetable drink (e.g. almond or oat drink)

  • 2 espresso

  • 3 tbsp pumpkin puree

  • 2 tbsp maple syrup

  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract

  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon

  • 1 pinch of ground ginger

  • 1 pinch of nutmeg

  • 1 pinch of ground cloves

  • First, you lather up the plant drink with a milk frother (this works particularly well with the so-called barista editions) and put it in a saucepan with the espressos.

  • Add the pumpkin puree, maple syrup, vanilla extract and the spices.

  • Now mix all the ingredients together and heat them over low heat.

  • Divide the drink between two glasses or cups.

    Complete!

  • If you like, you can top your Pumpkin Spice Latte with (vegan) cream.
