It's a terrifying result.
Many of the children's mattresses assessed by Stiftung Warentest have safety deficiencies.
More about it - here.
Especially when it comes to restful sleep for the little ones, parents rightly pay attention to quality instead of quantity.
A current test from September 2021 shows that good children's mattresses do not necessarily have to be expensive.
Stiftung Warentest also found out that many of the models tested had
safety
defects.
Nevertheless, some of the children's mattresses also achieved the quality rating “good”.
We'll tell you which ones they are.
Children's mattresses: Stiftung Warentest paid attention to this
Stiftung Warentest took a closer look at a
total of
14 children's
mattresses.
You can read here which points the experts took a closer look at.
Lying properties
: Here the support
properties
, the supine position and the air permeability were checked.
Security
: This aspect is arguably one of the most important.
After all, this is where tests are carried out to determine whether the children's mattress poses a risk of being trapped or small parts that could be swallowed.
Durability
: The continuous rolling test and the influence of moisture and temperature are the focus here.
Handling:
How easy is it to transport and turn the mattress?
These questions are in the foreground here.
Cover
: Here it is checked whether the mattress cover can be washed in the washing machine.
Declaration and advertising
: This point examines the question of whether the advertising and description of the model correspond to the facts.
Health and the environment
: On the one hand, this concerns possible pollutants that could pollute the air in the room.
And on the other hand, it is about environmentally friendly disposal.
Four children's mattresses failed the test - the best could at most achieve the quality rating well.
