At least two complaints filed
Renowned specialist in endometriosis, head of the gynecology-obstetrics and reproductive medicine department at Tenon hospital, Émile Daraï is now the target of at least two complaints, we learned from a judicial source.
The Paris public prosecutor's office opened on September 28 a judicial inquiry for "rape by a person having authority over a minor over 15 years old".
The investigations were entrusted to the Brigade for the protection of minors.
"I challenge the facts and put myself back to the conclusions of the joint investigation by the AP-HP and Sorbonne University", indicated Professor Daraï at the end of September.
The latter, who still consults, has been accused by several ex-patients of performing vaginal and rectal examinations brutally and without asking for consent.
The violent acts suffered by women during gynecological and obstetrical follow-up are "not isolated facts" in France and call for an "awareness" of the public authorities, concluded in June 2018 a report of the High Council for Equality on this controversial subject.
