A group of demonstrators entered the CGIL headquarters in Rome. "The CGIL is occupied" they say
. The group managed to break down the doors of the union headquarters and enter before the police could stop the demonstrators and push them back. The procession is still 'besieging' the CGIL building which has a torn shutter, the doors open and the alarm that continues to sound non-stop. "We are waiting for Landini" they shout from the megaphone, but also "hands off work" and "sold". The CGIL, according to the no pass, is guilty of failing to defend the workers who will be obliged from 15 October to present the green pass in all public or private workplaces. The unauthorized procession led by Forza Nuova leader Roberto Fiore and Giuliano Castellino passed through Villa Borghese and broke through a cordon of Police and Guardia di Finanza in Largo Brazil with some scuffles.
"The assault on the headquarters of the national CGIL is an act of fascist squads. An attack on democracy and on the whole world of work that we intend to reject. Nobody thinks of returning our country to the fascist period". This was stated by the general secretary of the CGIL,
Maurizio Landini.
"Tomorrow morning at 10, in front of the CGIL headquarters, - adds the leader of the Corso d'Italia trade union - the general assembly of the Confederation is urgently called to decide all the necessary initiatives".

The Prime Minister, Mario Draghi, phoned today the General Secretary of the CGIL, Maurizio Landini,
to express to him and to the entire union the full solidarity of the Government for the assault that took place today on the Rome office . So a note from Palazzo Chigi. "The trade unions are a fundamental defense of democracy and workers' rights. Any intimidation against them is unacceptable and must be rejected with absolute firmness". "What happened during the demonstration in Rome is unacceptable. I express my solidarity with the CGIL and the police forces for today's violence ". Thus the Minister of Health

"Solidarity with the CGIL for the cowardly attack received. We condemn without half measures what happened. These are very serious episodes, of unprecedented violence".
