Speedman is best known for his role as
Nick Marsh
, a transplant surgeon at the Mayo Clinic.
He is featured for the first time as a guest star in season 14.
Marsh actually wanted to pick up a liver for one of his patients.
The doctor, who had received a liver transplant himself, quickly became a patient at Gray Sloan.
Meredith saved his life when she discovered a life-threatening clot.
