(ANSA) - CAGLIARI, 09 OCT - A week later than the rest of Italy, Sardinia goes to the vote tomorrow and Monday to elect mayors and municipal councils in 98 municipalities (out of the 377 total on the island).
102 Municipalities were involved in this electoral round, but four were not presented lists: Gonnoscodina, Seneghe, Sorgono and Zerfaliu, where an extraordinary commissioner was called to lead the administration.
Voting takes place on Sunday 10 October, from 7 to 23, and Monday 11, from 7 to 15. The ballot will be held for 24 and 25 October in three municipalities with more than 15 thousand inhabitants: Olbia, Carbonia and Capoterra, but in the Gallura city the candidates for mayor there are only two (the outgoing Settimo Nizzi for the center-right and AugustoNavone for the Great Coalition) and the name of the winner will already be known on Monday evening.
In Carbonia, in Sulcis, three candidates are presented: LucaPizzuto, regional secretary of Art.1, together with the M5s; Piero Morittu of the Democratic Party, supported by two civic lists referable to Udc and Psd'Az and three other lists; Daniela Garau for the center-right (Forza Italia, Fratelli d'Italia, Lega and others).
Race to five, however, in Capoterra (Metropolitan City of Cagliari) where the center-right is divided and has two candidates: Gianluigi Marras (FdI, Forza Italia, Riformatori and a civic) and Beniamino Garau (Sardegna 20Venti, Psd'Az, Lega edue civiche) .
The center-left candid Efisio Demuru (Pd) has two lists, but there is also Beniamino Piga, the man of reference of the outgoing dem Francesco Dessì.
Attilio Congiu is also in the running, supported by Psi and the civic "Capoterra nel cuore".
The electoral campaign ended last night, today is the day of electoral silence and the setting up of the polling stations in the various schools that will host the vote.
