Poland, von der Leyen: we will protect the EU law principle

"Our Treaties are very clear. All judgments of the EU Court of Justice are binding and EU law takes precedence over national law. We will use all the powers we have under the Treaties to ensure this."

The statement comes one day after the ruling of the Polish Constitutional Court on the supremacy of domestic law over EU law.

"Poland's place is and will be in the family of European nations," the premier said on Facebook, adding that joining the bloc was "one of the highlights of recent decades" for Poland and the EU.
