Science fiction enthusiasts do not intend to stop there: “Our next project? Of course our dream is to build the Thousand Falcon

The X-wing spacecraft landed in Siberia.

A group of Star Wars fans in northern Russia's Yakutia province recreated the X-wing star fighter, which Luke Skywalker used to destroy the dreaded Death Star in the 1977 Star Wars movie: New hope.

Ayaal Fyodorov, built the model with a team during the three summer months.

The project cost around 5,000 euros and was made possible thanks to a grant.

What we thought of Star Wars episode IX

Ayaal Fyodorov had already made a name for himself earlier this year when he and his friends built a model of the Razor Crest ship from the Mandalorian series. But high winds blew away the replica of the ship last spring, completely destroying their work. Science fiction enthusiasts have not given up on that. They made the X-wing using the same materials: wood, plywood, and PVC panels. But this time, the team reinforced the craft to protect it from the wind. “It means a lot to see our dream come true,” said Ilya Burnashov who helped build the spacecraft.

The model can now be found where their Razor Crest ship model once stood, in Urdel Park in the Siberian city of Yakutsk.

And the group of friends does not intend to stop there: “Our next project?

Our dream is to build the Millennium Falcon ”.
