Unknown people set fire to a homeless camp in an underpass at Berlin's Ostbahnhof.
As the police announced on Monday, no one was injured.
The five residents of the tent camp in Berlin-Friedrichshain, some of whom were already sleeping, were 24 to 52 years old and managed to get to safety in good time during the fire on Sunday evening.
According to the fire department, an area of around 20 square meters was on fire.
Part of the camp burned down completely.
The background to the fact is still unclear.
There is no reliable evidence of a politically motivated act, it said.
The police are investigating attempted manslaughter and arson.
