When actress Billie Lourd thinks of December 2016, when her mother and grandmother died in quick succession, she still falters and stutters today.
“It was brutal.
It was really, really brutal, ”says Lourd on the New Day podcast.
On December 27, 2016, Lourd's mother, "Star Wars" icon Carrie Fisher, died at the age of 60 as a result of a heart attack.
A day later, Fisher's mother, Hollywood star Debbie Reynolds, died of a stroke at the age of 84.
It is still difficult for her to talk about it today, said Lourd: "Because everything I say is made into a headline that I didn't really mean." That was what she said in an interview a few months after the two of them died said, "Now that they're gone, I'm just Billie."
However, that was a problem.
Because she stepped out of the shadow of her family without having intended that in the form.
“It sounded like I wanted them to die.

She misses her mother every day, Lourd said.
“She was the greatest and funniest person ever.

Lourd explained that while she was still alive, she tried to step out of the shadows of her mother and grandmother.
People shouldn't know her just as the daughter of a famous actress.
“I just tried to break away from them when they were alive,” Lourd said. “And now I feel like I'm somehow trying to do the opposite.
I'm trying to connect with them because I miss them. "
Like her mother, who became famous as Princess Leia, Lourd also played in the latest "Star Wars" trilogy.
She can be seen as Lieutenant Connix in "The Force Awakens" (2015), "The Last Jedi" (2017) and "The Rise of Skywalker" (2019).
Lourd also starred in the series "American Horror Stories".
