(ANSA) - ROME, OCTOBER 11 - While the traditional Halloween celebrations in the United States last year were recommended by health agencies, this year Americans will be able to enjoy the traditional "trick or treat" outdoors. Word of Anthony S. Fauci, the infectious disease advisor to the White House for the coronavirus pandemic.
"Especially if a person is vaccinated, he can go out, also because the celebrations are mostly held outdoors," said the doctor in an interview with CNN last night. "This is a moment that children love."
Fauci's encouragement comes at a time when coronavirus cases are declining as are hospitalizations and deaths, with the hope that the summer wave fueled by the Deltastia variant is passing.
However, the infectious specialist recommended to be vigilant, warning there is always the risk of a new wave.
But anyway, Fauci urged, "go out and enjoy Halloween, as well as the other holidays to come".
