(ANSA) - NEW YORK, OCTOBER 11 - The Taliban have betrayed their "promises" on women's rights.
This was stated by the UN secretary general, Antonio Guteress, on the eve of the extraordinary G20 on Afghanistan, which will be chaired by Italy.
"I am particularly alarmed to see the promises made to Afghan women and girls by the Taliban being trafficked. I make a strong appeal to the Taliban to keep their promises to women and girls and to respect their obligations under international humanitarian law," Guterres said.
